　河端さんのBlogでの指摘ですが、特に数値関連では、KBのFIXが原因になっている可能性がある

と思います。関係を確認するのであれば、DBCC TRACEON(9059,-1)、あるいは

スタートアップオプションの-T9059 で挙動を比較できるようです。

更にSQL Server 2000 の Backup にも指定すると失敗することがある KB です。

・Windows Server 2003 はblock size 64KB over にも対応

・SQL Server 2000 はblock size 64KB 対応が最大

Tape Device がblock size 64KB over に対応していて、かつ採用されると失敗ということのようです。

・確認方法

発生するかもしれないそうです。

　現状使用している?GlobalMemoryStatus が適切に扱えるのは2GB、

GlobalMemoryStatusEx に切り替える Hotfix によって4GB over に対応していくようです。

　KB898042 で SQL Server 2000 SP4 では、x64上のWOW64がサポート対象に追加されています。

(但し MSDE2000 と IA-64上のWOW64は対象外)

Hotfix は基本的に x86, x64 両対応になり、package name に "x86x64" が含まれる予定みたいです。

　また、SQL Server 2005 Express Edition と比較すると、

・対応 OS を幅広くしたい場合

・x64 化が速やかと推定する場合

SQL Server 2005 Express Edition ターゲットや MSDE2000 との両対応が重要そうです。

　デフォルトインスタンスがインストールされていない場合限定の不具合のようですので、稀なケース

だと思います。

　名前付インスタンスのみ複数インストールされた環境で、混乱することがあるようです。

名前付インスタンスの選択を切り替えた後は、問題ないようですので、回避策レベルで逃げても

Renaming a stored procedure, function, view, or trigger will not change the name of the corresponding object name in the definition column of the sys.sql_modules catalog view. This makes the object unusable because the object definition cannot not found. Therefore, do not rename these object types. Instead, drop and re-create the object by its new name.

Renaming an object such as a table or column will not automatically rename references to that object. You must modify any objects that reference the renamed object manually. For example, if you rename a table column and that column is referenced in a trigger, you must modify the trigger to reflect the new column name. Use sys.sql_dependencies to list dependencies on the object before renaming it.

　それはそれとして、WISH の候補としてはありだとも思うのですが、

悩ましいのは

・WITH ENCRYPTION

・参照するテーブル等のsp_renameへの自動追従

といった点をどう捉えるかです。

　これらに対応していないと改善しても用途が限られそうな気がします。

逆に、下手な対応をすると暗号化したはずのソースに手がかりをあたえ、弱点につながりかねない

危惧も感じます。

>名前とプロパティの整合がとれていないビューなどのオブジェクトを容易に判別する機能の提供を

>望みたいと思います。
　そういう意味では、例えば

sp_rename

で影響された場合、拡張プロパティにでも目印を残すといった安全策はありうるかもしれません。
